Water paintings

 Water is basic, elemental.

I paint water for three reasons; it's difficult, it's mercurial, and it's spiritual.

Mixing subtle nuances of blues, for days and days, take a great deal of patience, and I don't consider myself all that patient.  Therapy of a sort.

And water has dozens of moods; from playful to angry to calm.  I try to explore a variety of them, but I have to say that I like the calming ones the best (at least now).

But above all water is a gift, fundamental.
